Date Night

6 Mar

And so it came to pass that two crazy kids made it out to dinner by themselves, leaving their baby home with grandma. Hangar steak and whole, grilled branzino, chocolate bread pudding, and even some cocktails. High times were had by all, and BB slept blissfully through the whole thing. Grandma watched movies.

It’s like, a life, man. A life.

Ooooh, nice. Blue Ribbon, no less! Can you send that grandma over to Forest Hills? We could use a date night too….

Um, don’t your parents live like 45 minutes away? Better yet, can’t you just drop off the little one overnight and go on that raging bender you two have always wanted to go on? Or that weekend in Vegas, for that matter?

They’re actually closer to 35-40 mins away. Alas, for reasons I won’t go into, we don’t keep my parents too late, and they’re not great with getting our toddler to bed, so that sort of precludes them sitting for “date nights” for us. As for Vegas, I think you’re referring to that wedding-vow renewal with an Elvis impersonator…but I’ll let my wonderful husband fill you in on his requirements for that.
