Meet-n-greet

7 Jan

I think we had our first play date this past week, though at this point it was more a ‘let’s get together and share pro-tips on what’s working and what’s not working.’ Since I am living something of the luxury of staying home with baby mama, and our friends are in a similar situation, we had a day of visiting awesomeness. Lunch was had, and Baby Bilbo got to meet Baby Navy Lawyer. Lots of information was shared about thrush, including the seemingly magical All-Purpose Nipple Ointment recipe.

My favorite part about the babies together is that with one, you get depth, but with two, you get comparison. Two weeks apart, the babies are quite different. BNL snorts and snuffles, and she wakes up and has long moments when she is completely chillaxing. BB wakes up, and he’s forty-six seconds from fanatical wailing. BB also squeaks like a dolphin (baby mama says it’s more of a horse whinny, but we’ll see). Also BNL is long, which makes her head seem smaller since her body is bigger. BB is a squat little thing with a big head.

Of course, you had to read into all this a little, as for the most part the babies slept while the adults tried to remind ourselves of times past when we had stuff like interests, and lives, and brain capabilities. And we did!

Fruit and cheese and quiche and even some banana cake was eaten by all.

A good day all around.

Since our little one got dubbed baby navy lawyer, AND since you suggested the Muppets Studio videos (we particularly liked Ode to Joy, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Popcorn shrimp), I figured I’d share this one. Gave us a few laughs to distract us during feed #367:

Oh my god, but this is a sinkhole of goodness. I sometimes go down the rabbit hole of musical guests on Sesame Street (Feist, Paul Simon, etc.), but I’m going to be Muppet Showing for a while now. Excellent!

BTW, we still can’t get over the spy hero dreams. 101% awesomeness.
